Christmas Meet in Amsterdam

Holy shit, I'm... I'm UPDATING MY BLOG?
Oh my god.... maybe the apocalypse is 2 days late!

Haha, anyway, without further ado~

Yesterday I went to a gyaru meet set up by Kaoru and Rina and it was amazing. The meet actually started at 5, but a small group decided to meet up earlier to go shopping. I couldn't be there (not like I had money to go shopping or anything LOL) and therefore couldn't see Chelsey again cause she couldn't stay for dinner, but I'll see her in Düsseldorf anyway, so it's okay.

My look for the day.
 Kaoru did my hair again, but the rain and wind made it all messy .. :c

Blazer - C&A
Shirt - Cool Cat
Jeans - H&M
Shoes - bought at Bristol,
modified with studs from eBay.
Accessories - eBay.

 I really liked my coord for the first time in ages. I've been in a bit of a fashion slump and it was seriously affecting my coords, but I hope that's solved now.

At 5:30 PM everyone went to eat at the Japanese restaurant called Kyoto Café. Kaoru and I were late because of a lot of reasons, but we arrived at like 6, so no biggie! It was €27,80 and then you could order as much of anything on the menu. Wanted like 10 pieces of fried chicken? SURE. 15 sushi rolls? OKAY! Ermergerd I ate so much. Sushi, chicken, omelettes, icecream. I think I even had some duck!

Pictures stolen from Jojo

The food was delicious! *O* I don't think I've ever eaten sushi this good before, to be honest with you! O: I paid €33,20 because I had 2 drinks which were €2,70 each (expensive, bah), but €33,20 for the €60 worth of food I shoved into my mouth? I love you, Kyoto Café. I will definitely go eat there again.

Outside we took group pictures. Thank you, Pichi Pie for uploading them on facebook! ♥
Not even looking at the camera ;;;

And that's about it!

お・久・し・ぶ・り

Hey guys~ long time no see, haha!

I'm kind of in the middle of an unannounced hiatus because I haven't really been doing anything gyaruo related lately and even if I do, I cant be assed to take pictures ahahaha. Guess I'm in a slump. y u y;; College and work are sucking my dry of all my energy and having to get up at like 6:30 to go to school doesn't really motivate me to do any major effort to dress up. I just want to sleep as much as possible LOL;;;

I've got a gal meet on the 22nd of December here in Amsterdam and the meet in Düsseldorf on the 26th of January, so I hope that slump excuses itself soon! I need to kick myself back into shape so I can improve >:l I don't want to look bad anymore, goddamnit!

Also: once I come back from my hiatus, expect more styles than gyaruo popping up on here, because seeing as I like way too many styles to choose a main one, I'll just refer to myself as "WhateverthefuckIfeellikewearinggtoday-Fuckthesystem" kei :3 ...wasn't that called Aomoji-kei? I think it was...

Well, whatever it's called, I'll be revamping my blog and might be changing the name of my blog as well, but I dunno about that yet. Just feel like I should start fresh. All my other posts will stay up, though. (Ö v Ö)b

Gyaru0boy: Max Kornek

Yo~ This entry is gonna be in Dutch and I'm not sure if I'll translate it because I'm a terribly lazy person, am typing this with half-lidded eyes cause I'm exhausted LOL and because I'm actually supposed to write this for class. I could blog about anything I'd like and I was just watching Max's latest video so here I am. :3

._. ... and then I realized how much I disliked writing in Dutch and sat here like '...k'.

Gyaru fashion is a type of Japanese street fashion that originated in the 1970’s. Gyaru is most commonly referred to as ganguro, but ganguro is actually a subculture of gyaru. Ganguro was popular in the 1990’s, but shortly died out in the early 2000’s. Gyaru is a girly-glam style, breaking away from traditional standards of beauty. Dwelling on the man-made (wigs, fake eyelashes, fake nails, etc).
Gyaru fashion does not fit with traditional, and media portrayed ideals of Japanese women. It is often identified as a sign of rebellious youth.
Gyaru fashion is typically characterized by dyed hair (which is often lightened to varying shades of brown or blonde), excessively decorated nails, and makeup. This makeup typically consists of dark eyeliner, and dramatic fake eyelashes; gyaru sometimes wear cosmetic circle lenses as well to enhance the size of their irises, to add more width to their eyes. Brands cater to this particular trend by producing fake eyelashes, circle lenses, and other cosmetics. Typically Gyaru are known for being tan, but that is not always the case.
Max zijn stijl binnen gyaruo heet 'onii kei'. Onii betekend in het Japans 'Grote boer' en kei staat voor 'stijl', dus 'grote broer stijl'. Geciteerd van whatisgyaru @ tumblr:

Onii-kei: (Highly Active Style) ( means older brother) Is the male equivalent of Onee gyaru. A more sophisticated visual-kei or gyaru-o look. Leaving behind the brightly colored hair, and clothing of their youth.
